Inspection of Pressure Vessels – Safety and Compliance for Die-Casting and Injection Molding Machines
Pressure vessels in die-casting and injection molding machines are exposed to enormous stresses during operation. They store or transport nitrogen or oil and are a central component of the hydraulic systems. Due to the high pressures and constant loads, they represent a potential safety risk – particularly in cases of material fatigue, corrosion, or defective weld seams.
Legal Inspection Requirements for Pressure Vessels
To reliably prevent hazards, the legislator prescribes regular inspections.
These include:
- Pressure Equipment Directive (DGV)
- Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV)
- DGUV regulations
These pressure vessel inspections are mandatory – prior to commissioning as well as at regular intervals during operation. They may only be carried out by qualified personnel or in cooperation with an authorized inspection body (ZÜS).

Professional Preparation by Our Technicians
For optimal preparation of the legally required inspection of pressure vessels, our technicians identify all components of your system subject to inspection in advance and define the exact scope of testing together with you. This includes reviewing the available documentation and assessing the relevant pressure vessels on site.
Our Fimro technicians are qualified personnel for the inspection of pressure vessels and take care of the professional disassembly during the inspection appointment. In the process, safety-relevant wear parts such as seals, valves, or rupture discs are replaced. Afterwards, we prepare the pressure vessels for the internal visual inspection as well as the strength test, ensuring that the final inspection by an authorized inspection body (ZÜS) can be carried out smoothly.
Original Spare Parts for Safe Operation
An important part of preparation is the timely provision of all required spare parts. Based on system analysis, we procure original spare parts for you such as seals, valves, or burst discs – exactly matching the respective pressure vessel type and in accordance with manufacturer specifications. This ensures that all safety-relevant components are available in tested quality.
